Meet our 2026 Summer Interns

Aanya Malaviya is a rising senior at McLean High School interested in policy. She is currently working in the Vys policy track, where she is building a policy and regulatory tracker for key child safety developments happening globally.

Outside of Vys, Aanya has her own blog where she writes about history and current events, exploring how major political, social, and cultural developments shape the world today. At school, Aanya is her school’s National History Honor Society vice president and rows.

Ainslea Hong is a junior at The Brearley School interested in how technology shapes people’s judgment. She is currently a Vys policy intern, developing a tool that tracks key child safety developments. She also created BiteSafe, the 2025 Congressional App Challenge-winning app for New York’s 12th District, helping users make informed decisions about food allergies and safety.

At school, she leads the Computer Science Club, serves as Head of Code in Robotics, writes for The Catalyst, and plays varsity lacrosse. Outside of school, she studies cello at the Manhattan School of Music Precollege and performs with New York Youth Symphony.

Amelia Farrell is a junior at the Brearley School interested in the ways companies ensure a safe user experience for children. She is currently conducting research on industry developments in child safety. 

At school, she is head of Riley's Way, a leadership club, and French Club and will be going on a semester abroad to France in the fall. Outside of school, she loves to ski and will be an instructor for children and adults with cognitive and physical disabilities this winter. She also enjoys baking and traveling with her family and friends.

Ayan Marin is a rising senior at the Dalton School in NYC with interests in applied mathematics, physics, and AI. He is currently building a risk detection and triage system for AI chatbots while developing a more efficient way to track digital safety policies worldwide. This past spring, Ayan conducted research at a local university on the application of Lagrange multipliers to multi-stage rocketry.

At school, he serves as Junior Class President and Head of Mentorship on the Parliamentary Debate Team. Outside of school, he enjoys soccer and is excited to watch the World Cup this summer.

Emily Butkow is a junior at The Spence School interested in the design and development of child safety features in technology. She is currently building an industry benchmarking tool and testing various online products for child safety features as part of the Product track.

At school, Emily is the Junior Captain of the Math Team, an Independent Science Research Fellow, and the senior head of Artivism. Outside of school, Emily works at a children’s art studio and spends her free time painting and drawing.

Serena Shah is a sophomore at Princeton Day School interested in the intersection of mental health and technology. She is currently on the product track, developing and building an industry benchmarking tool and testing various online products for their child safety features.

At school, she is on the varsity squash team, writes for the school newspaper, and sings in her choir. Outside of school, she is a member of the Media Power Youth advisory board, which focuses on digital safety for youth. She is also interning for a startup focused on squash clubs and players.

William Dorais is a rising junior interested in the production process of child protection tools in an online social environment. He is currently on the Policy Research track building a tracker for key child safety developments. 

At school, he is an active member of the Jazz Band and Varsity Ski Team. Outside of school, he is a community and project manager for game studios and actively works on designing moderation tools for personal projects.
